Why not..

Rangers crop of players/Celtic crop of players.. arent exactly top notch, but with the crop of players we have we still are taking the Champions League by storm..

Lyon 0-3 Rangers

Lyon World Class side, which involves a variety of world class players as in.. Coupet, Juninho, Kallstrom..

Compared with Rangers.. we have the likes of Barry Ferguson, Carlos Cueller, Charlie Adam..

That is a huge comparison in passion and stride,

Then Celtic 2-1 Ac Milan (European Champions)

Need i say more..

In all honesty Shaw you only need to look at Scotlands progress over the last 18-24months to see that football north of the border has taken massive strides forward,on the international and domestic side of things.Even the two mighty clubs of Celtic and Rangers have not had it all their own way in the slp and had to fiercely fight of clubs like Hearts, and now even Aberdeen are coming back up to the status they held back in the mid eighties.........hope the Scottish game does improve even wider and who would of thought a team like Gretna would be acheiving what they are??????????????

What are Gretna achieving ?

But that isnt the point, the Question is Celtic and Rangers in the Prem, not how other teams IE Hearts, Aberdeen, Gretna!

Where have you been the last 4 years m8,they only got an invite to the league a few years back and virtually steamroller their way to the Premier League and have a Scottish Cup Final thrown in last season, thats what theyre achieving.

Aye ok,looks like theyll go back down again, but considering they lost the manager last season and have been unable to strengthen the squad i still think what they have done is a learning stone for all clubs to look at,and all this from a town with less than 3000 of a population.

We know that the thread is about the Old Firm in the Premiership but surely Lionsroar is entitled to make a comment about our Spl as it was a valid point he made.

If Celtic and Rangers want to join English football then I think they should be made to start right at the bottom in the Blue Square Premier league as it would not be fare for any clubs in the Premier League, Championship or League 1 and 2. Plus for the fans it wouldn’t be fare as if they were playing Pompy away wouldn’t fancy there journey.

It would never happen with them starting in the lowest leagues as no player worth their salt would ever want to start in that league and hang around for 5 seasons or more progressing to the Premiership, and thats on the understanding that they go straight there, its the real world and not Nick Jarvis and Warbury Warriors were talking about, its 2 of the biggest clubs in the World, and i state that by reputation and following, not results on the park because i know many may say our clubs better but i can say without any fear of being exaggerant that Celtic and Rangers have a massive worldwide support.

So only way it will ever happen is if the big guns of England make a break away league and invite the Old Firm to join them and somehow i cant see that happening as the English League is by far the best league in the world and will probably remain so for a very long time to come.

So unless Celtic and Rangers want to face financial ruin and obscurity by joining the Northern League i think they will remain being big fish in a small pond up here rather than becoming small fish in a large one in England,as i agree fully that they wont go straight into the Premiership as who would step down,i know i wouldnt and i wouldnt ever expect anyone else to do so.
