Andy Goram joins Clyde.

He'll come in handy if the pitch needs rolled!:giggle:

Quote:
ANDY GORAM will make a return to football today when he is unveiled as part of new Clyde boss John Brown's backroom team.

The former Rangers and Scotland hero will take on the role of goalkeeping coach at Broadwood and link up again with his former Ibrox nine-in-a-row team-mate.

Bully Wee gaffer Brown admits he is delighted to hand The Goalie a return to the game - and add some colour to the dressing-room.

He said: "We had Peter Latchford in for a couple of days a week to work with the keepers but I decided I needed someone who could be available every day.

"Andy has been looking to get back into the game for a while and fits the bill perfectly.

"He was a great keeper and will be able to help our boys develop. And there is nobody better to learn from.

"He'll also be with us on match days helping with the warm-ups. He has a big personality and his presence will be a lift for everyone."

Former Scotland goalkeeper Andy Goram has joined the coaching staff with First Division strugglers Clyde.

Goram will be goalkeeping coach under his friend and former Rangers team-mate, John Brown, who took charge at Broadwood in January.

Clyde presently sit second bottom of their league and could face a play-off to avoid relegation.

Goram will work with the club's goalkeepers three days a week, in addition to match days.

He was previously goalkeeping coach with Airdrie United.
They'd better double the pie order!

So does Jorg Albertz .............. or does he?

The Scotsman:
Quote:
FORMER Rangers midfielder Jorg Albertz is poised to sign for Clyde. Although he will not be signed ahead of tonight's clash with Morton, he is likely to be fixed up by Saturday.
The German trained with Clyde last week and is ready to make a return to Scotland to help the First Division strugglers, who are trying to escape the relegation play-off zone.

Clyde manager John Brown is a former team-mate of Albertz, who played for Rangers from 1996-2001, scoring 64 goals in more than 150 games. Brown said: "Although he is now 37 his fitness is good and he has not put on weight. I saw that for myself last week when he was with us.

"He is a good friend of mine and he is keen to help out and has a lot of feelings for this country.

"He has a lot of experience which would rub off on our young players and during games he will want to get on the ball and make things happen. It would be a great bonus to have him involved with the first team squad between now andthe end of the season and hopefully it will happen."
The Daily Record:
Quote:
JORG ALBERTZ has sensationally agreed to make a comeback as a player with First Division Clyde.

The former Rangers hero is expected to sign this week and will line up against Stirling Albion in a make-or-break basement battle on Saturday.

Albertz, a former Germany international, is 37 but still in top condition and boss John Brown is thrilled to bring him on board.

He said: "Jorg is a personal friend, has trained with the club a few times and is in superb condition. There are a few loose ends to tie up but we're expecting him over on Friday for the Stirling game.

"It's great for the club and players, who will gain from having someone of his experience training and playing with them.

"Even if he lasts for an hour in games he'll bring something we've lacked."

The Hammer was a team-mate of Brown's at Rangers during the nine-in-a-row run and could land a coaching role with the Broadwood club.
The club website:
Quote:
Despite media reports to the contrary, the club can confirm that Jorg Albertz has not yet signed for Clyde. Following training with The Bully Wee last week, the ex-Rangers player will, however, be returning to Broadwood on Friday and all are hopeful that a deal will be concluded then.

Certainly Manager John Brown was fulsome in his praise for his former team mate: "Jorg has, of course, got lots of experience and he has kept himself in good shape. I saw that first hand when he was over in Scotland last week and trained with all the players.

"Jorg is a good friend of mine and he has a lot of feelings for this country and is keen to help us out.

"He is 37, his fitness levels have looked good and he hasn't put on weight. Certainly his vast experience will rub off on our younger players and during games he will want to get on the ball and make things happen for the team. All in all it will be a great bonus between now and the end of the season to have him involved in the first team squad and hopefully that will happen very soon."
"The Hammer" is an Ibrox legend and Clyde are becoming a Rangers Old Boys club!
