Recoba first arrived in Serie A in 1997, and made his debut for Inter on the same day as Ronaldo, totally eclipsing the Brazilian with two wonder-strikes in a 2-1 win over Brescia. Despite being blessed with one of the purest left-foots, and incalculable talent, Recoba never really lived up to his potential, despite moments of genius. A favourite of President Massimo Moratti, who continually blocked a transfer of the player during the years, Recoba finally signed for Torino on loan at the beginning of this season. The 31-year-old, who has struggled to impress with the Granata, is set to return to Inter at the end of the campaign, but it seems he will then move to Nacional, the club he left to join the Nerazzurri 11 years ago. "Recoba told me that he has had offers from Qatar and from an Italian team," said Recoba’s representative Alejandro Balbi. "However out of respect for [Inter] President Massimo Moratti, he is not willing to accept another offer from Italy. "Therefore, the idea is to return to Nacional. Even his father and his friends have recommended it."
